WHITE LODGING APPOINTS TOM TABLER TO GENERAL MANAGER OF NEW WESTIN AUSTIN AT THE DOMAIN
Industry Veteran Tabler Tapped to Lead Company's First Westin Branded Hotel

AUSTIN, TX (March 03, 2009) – White Lodging of Merrillville, IN has announced Tom Tabler has accepted the position of General Manger for the company’s new Westin Austin hotel at the Domain.  Scheduled to open spring 2010, the hotel is owned by affiliation of White Lodging and Indianapolis, IN-based Simon Property Group.

“I am honored to have someone with the experience and knowledge that Tom possesses lead the efforts at the Westin Austin at the Domain,” stated Regional Vice President Kevin Grandin.  “Tom’s background in full-service management as well as sales and revenue management is exactly what our new Westin needs to achieve excellence in guest and financial success.”

An industry veteran, Tabler comes on board to oversee all operational, sales and administrative aspects of the hotel.  He will play a major role during the pre-opening process.  Prior to joining White Lodging, Tabler enjoyed a successful career with Marriott International for over 21 years.  He most recently served as Texas-Market Director of Sales, pioneering many training curriculums that are utilized throughout the region today.  Additionally, he has held various operational positions in the greater Austin and San Antonio areas and has been honored with various awards and recognitions for his efforts in particular Hotel of the Year (San Antonio Riverwalk) and Director of Marketing of the Year/.Sales Team of the Year (Austin Marriott at the Capitol/Renaissance Austin Hotel).  While general manager at the Austin Marriott at the Capitol in 2006, the hotel experienced record financial results in over 20 years. 

The Westin Austin at the Domain is located in northwest Austin, within The Domain – Austin’s prestigious lifestyle and residential center where guests will be steps away from over 700,000 square feet of high-end shopping.  The hotel will feature 340 guestrooms and suites, indoor pool, fitness center, full-service restaurant and over 13,000 square feet of meeting space.
