The iconic Union Club Hotel was built on the Purdue University West Lafayette campus in phases from 1929-53 as an addition to the Purdue Memorial Union.

Upon taking over, White Lodging worked with the university to completely renovate the hotel; including the addition of a new restaurant, bar and coffee counter. This development is a source of pride to all Purdue alum and operates in conjunction with the Hospitality and Tourism Management program to offer Purdue students hands-on learning experiences while enrolled at the school.

Capturing the spirit of Purdue’s innovations, the lobby underwent the most significant transformation where guests are now treated to a grand entrance in a modern loft-like feel created by removing several guest rooms above the existing space. The contemporary design pulls through many of the building’s original architectural elements while celebrating alumni who have had an impact around the world. All 182 guest rooms and public spaces also received a complete overhaul. What didn’t change is the historical and architectural significance of the building’s facade.
